White Light White Night is a yearly event held to benefit Walk With Sally, and I was happy to attend the festivities. This is the 8th annual event, and it included a “Taste of Los Angeles”, hosted Cocktails+Beer+Wine, live & silent auctions, and a live musical performance by Berlin! Truly fantastic!
Here’s a bit more from the event website:
White Light White Night is dedicated to raise funds and friends through a majestic experience of light, love and laughter.
The evening is a true party, celebrating the triumphant spirit of our Walk With Sally children, and invites supporters to contribute to our organization’s
life-altering mission.
There were celebrities and a red carpet as well. As a member of the media, I was allowed to walk the carpet, but I hung back and let Rick Schroder ahead of me so I could skip it. I had such a crush on him on Silver Spoons when I was a wee lass! Also, I saw the beautiful Anna Trebunskaya with a terrible burn on her elbow and had to mention it to her. She said it’s common to get “floor burn” and that it takes forever to heal. The life of a dancer!
Now, to the food and drink!
Tequila Patrón was slinging the drinks at multiple bars. Definitely a popular stop!
Now, there was a lot of food, so I did my best to photograph all of it! I did include a link to each restaurant, but I didn’t write down all of the descriptions. However, for the most part, the dishes speak for themselves and if you are a restaurant owner who wants to update me with your dish description, please e-mail me!
Both bites from Ayara Thai were spot on, especially the dish below…
Drunken shrimp and tostaditos
with smoked marlin pate, shrimp, octopus, seasonal ceviche
Kale Salad
with grapes, carrots, garbanzo beans, cranberries, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, herb dressing
These are some extra special waffles, as you may remember from Bite at the Beach.
Unlike, Tacolandia and the L.A. Street Food Fest, there were basically no lines for this event. However, there were a couple exceptions, including a 2 minute wait for the mac and cheese. I could see why this was a crowd fave!
An awesome dish, but a terrible picture! One of my favorites, and the chef was super friendly. 🙂

Those two dishes deserve a description. Help, anyone?
Mushroom Toast
I was so surprised at how much I loved this crostini…from a pizza joint! Definitely checking it out, especially after a few words with the chef and finding out we have some favorite restaurants in common!
I remember the fantastic hummus from before, and I loved the little bite of the chicken pie!
And that was all the food that we could taste before our stomachs burst! There was a lot more besides the food! Patron was making customized muddlers. Fun!
A fun white stretch limousine photo booth. 🙂
And of course, many items to bid on in the silent auction, plus the live auction later.
Wow, lots of wines to bid on!
Before the evening festivities, we were treated to these adorable girls singing their hearts out!
Lastly, we heard from the amazing founder of Walk With Sally and White Light White Night, participated in the live auction, and got to rock out to Berlin!
A fantastic event that all of the lovely people enjoyed. I am definitely looking forward to next year!
