Are you surprised that I have yet another Umami Burger post for you today? Yes, this is the third one (see posts #1 & #2), but when I was invited to try out the new Throwback Burger, I was super excited!
The Throwback celebrates the new streamlined menu that will be found at all Umami Burger locations, so you will be able to get it at your location too!
Since we were celebrating a new burger and menu, I decided to head to a new location to me, the one in Costa Mesa! It is tucked into the side of The CAMP, a really cool spot with lots to see and do.
You’re probably antsy to see some food after spying the spread above… Let’s get to it!
This reminds me of the very first time I had Umami Burger years ago. Simply delicious! There were just a few differences since they go with the seasonal options, but it was just as satisfying and gorgeous. On this plate, there were teriyaki mushrooms, carrots, snap peas, peppers, beets, and cucumbers.
I am a huge eater, but I never get double patties… until now! Not only were the two patties wonderful, I absolutely loved the twist on each ingredient. The cheese was a wonderfully oozy white cheddar, the mustard and ketchup were Umami-fied, and the pickles were marinated in soy for an extra punch. Honestly, my mouth is watering thinking of it now. I am so getting this one next time. 🙂
Maybe I didn’t eat it so pretty, but you can see what I mean from the picture below…
Just get them. Enough said. 😉
Besides, they come with all four amazing sauces if for some reason the truffle cheese isn’t enough flavor for you!
Usually the non-beef burgers are the butt of the joke on any menu. Not this time! The green cheese and green goddess dressing combination knocked my socks off. There’s nothing to laugh at with this burger, and it’s now one of my favorites!
Um, I’m reading the ingredients and they’re saying cheese, egg, truffle, truffle, and truffle. Each component is so flavorful on its own, but it isn’t overwhelming. I adore the crispy parmesan on the burger, which contrasts so beautifully with the silky egg yolk. *Swoon*
On the way out, I noticed a fun little voting system to see how this location is doing in terms of customer service and food. I know I’ve been Umamified!
Make sure to check out your local Umami Burger to see which burgers made the cut on the menu, plus the amazing Throwback Burger below. Just one more food porn picture…
So the question is…
