The Boiling Crab (western U.S.)

My aunt was celebrating her birthday in the middle of the week, and she invited us to go to The Boiling Crab!    If you remember from my last time there, it is definitely an experience to be had.  đź™‚  It has been almost a year since I was here, which means that we definitely love our seafood when summertime rolls around!

First off, I have to apologize.  This was my aunt’s birthday, and I did not want to pause every time I wanted to take a picture.  Therefore, there are a bunch of blurry pictures, but it probably reflects the fact that when food is put on the table, it’s a free-for-all!

Here is the crazy interior of the restaurant.  I think they could get away with half of the televisions because there were sooo many of them!  And all of them were tuned into the Lakers game, which was kind of overkill.

What a nice, neat table before the food arrives!  They line it with thick waxed paper so they can just dump everything off of the table once everyone is done.

The menu is pretty small, with seafood on the entire left side, plus a few fried items and side dishes on the right.  Yep, not a great place for raw foodies…  đź™‚

This is as close to a vegetable as we got!  That has always been a complaint of mine.  Not even fried zucchini, since they love frying!  Of course the sweet potato fires are delicious, but they parked them in front of me and it was difficult not to grab a few.  đź™‚

But the main thing we are there for is the shrimp!  Oh, and there are no forks and knives, so this is old school peeling.  đź™‚  And I know that some people think corn is a vegetable, but it’s a grain.  They went fast!

I also decided to try the Gumbo without rice.  Not bad!  I wasn’t sure at first, but at least I got few real vegetables!

And here’s the whole spread again, with tons of lemons for some reason…

Well, we just about demolished everything on the table, but then we saved room for a birthday cream puff from Beard Papa a short walk away.  I don’t even know how!
