We were in Las Vegas with my family over the weekend and my dad made reservations for the whole family at this restaurant called Pamplemousse Le Restaurant. He was majorly excited because it was a second branch of the amazing Pamplemousse in the San Diego area… or so he thought. It did not even occur to him that they were completely different restaurants! However, it claims to be the oldest French restaurant in Las Vegas with many entertainers visiting over the years.
It was a fun experience and here is the crudités platter as proof!
We thought the outside sign was a bit reminiscent of… let’s call it a gentlemen’s club…
The front area was a bit more dignified looking!
The inside was decorated for Christmas, and they have signed pictures of a ton of famous celebrities from over the years.
The waiter was a character and definitely a happy guy to be working there for so many years!
I have to show a second picture of this menu. Take a look at the Hors D’Oeuvres: French Onion soup, Foie Gras, Pâté, Escargots, and even more French delights. My mom was in heaven!
Before we received any of our appetizers, we received the huge crudités platter, which was amazing! I think more people would eat vegetables if they were served like this. 🙂
For my appetizer, I love a good tomato basil soup. I had to order this one, and it was creamy and delicious!
My guy ordered a French onion soup. The best part is the crusty Gruyere oozing over the side!
Escargots for my mom. She loves it, regardless of the fact that she hates snails in her garden.
My dad, who ordered the 5 course dinner had a grapefruit sorbet in champagne. It is very appropriate because pamplemousse means grapefruit in French!
For dinner, I wanted to keep it small and ordered the Crevette Sautée Sauce Diable appetizer. It was lovely and so flavorful!
My guy ordered a huge steak!
My mom had the lamb.
Another person had the Brochette “Terre et Mer,” meaning French for surf and turf!
Now, as much as we ate, there is always room for dessert! We noticed the “Please pre-order (allow 25 minutes)” on the menu, so we ordered one of each!
We had three desserts in total: profiteroles.
a Grand Marnier souffle…
and the winner of the night, the Chocolate Lava cake! An oldie but a goodie. 🙂
It was one of the only times we have eaten off the strip in Las Vegas, but I am willing to give more restaurants a shot. 🙂
