I was absolutely over the moon to attend my first Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival and it was an amazing experience. Over the next four posts, I have so many delicious bites to share with you! Quick note, I regret that I missed the first event, “Ultimate Bites of LA” but I had more than enough food afterward to make up for it!
My first ever event was the Asian Night Market Hosted by Iron Chef Morimoto! I learned a couple of things, such as show up ready to stand in lines line, be prepared to meet people and run into old friends, and pace yourself so you can try as many amazing dishes as possible!
Here’s a description of the event to whet your appetite:
“Join us as we re-invent the classic Night Market into a multi-sensory street food experience that brings the flavor of Asian night markets from Taipei to Kuala Lumpur to Grand Avenue! Serving up traditional as well as interpretive Asian street grub from both established restaurants and mom-and-pop joints, the Night Market recreates the celebratory chaos and delicious energy of the quintessential Asian Night Market experience with a distinct West Coast flavor.”
Now, to the food! I did not try everything, because I didn’t arrive on time and the event was packed to the brim with people! So, here’s the rundown on what I ate. 🙂 Enjoy!
Ube Bread Pudding with Buko Pandan Drizzle
Summer Truffle Duck “Tsukune” Meatballs | Teriyaki Glaze
Salmon Sashimi Taco
One of the most photogenic and tasty dishes!
Easily the longest line of the night with people waiting for more than an hour. Unfortunately, they ran out of food halfway through… Fortunately, we can look forward to his new ramen place opening soon!
Fun dip | sake & lemon
This was a wonderful event, and amongst all the hustle and bustle, I was able to try some amazing dishes!
