Recently, I headed to Kay ‘N Dave’s in Culver City with a group of blogger friends to experience their brunch, it was simply amazing! We had so much food, drinks, and dessert that I actually had leftovers for once! I left stuffed and with more goodies for later. Sounds like a perfect way to start the day!
We met at the Culver City location and brunched outside! They also have a couple more locations in Brentwood and Pacific Palisades for anyone near those cities. 🙂
To the food and drinks!
We had some deeelicious drinks to start, and they were super generous! I love how they had both sweet AND spicy!
Every one of these was a bite of deliciousness! I loved how the relleno was made with squash blossoms instead of a chile. Inventive!
Mini Pibil Sope
Another of my favorites was the ceviche, which tasted super fresh and flavorful. Also, they are just beautiful, aren’t they?
This was easily my favorite drink! So fruity and fresh, with that gorgeous addition of mint. I could have had more than one… or two… or more. 😉
This was a beautiful presentation with the pomegranate seeds, and it was delicious!
I adored this dish! The tomatillo salsa was different than most places in that it was the spicy one! Usually, the green, slightly sour tomatillo is given the mild treatment, but you KNOW I loved it with some spice!
With the avocado, egg, and other goodies on top. I finished off every last bite.
By the time the molcajete got to us, I was stuffed. But I made room once I saw the gorgeous dish headed our way! There were so many goodies packed in there, and every single one of them was delicious.
Before dessert came out, we were able to speak with the three brothers behind the delicious food we ate. Some of the traditional recipes that they cook were handed down from their grandmother. Cute, right? 🙂
We were sitting at two different tables, and for whatever reason, we ordered ours hot and they all ordered theirs cold. Both were fantastic!
When this dish came out… we made room in our dessert stomachs. 🙂
The ice cream was possibly my favorite of the trio, with the sweet warm outside and the creamy interior. Heavenly! Tres leches is arguably my favorite cake, and this one did not disappoint. 🙂
The presentation on the flautas was “ooh” and “aah” inducing. I ate every single one!
