Practically every time there is a list of the best burgers in L.A./the U.S./the world/beyond, Father’s Office famous The Office Burger makes the list. So why haven’t I tried it? Because the very famous, very strict non-modification policy, I can’t escape the inclusion of bacon. Well it should be easy to pick off, right? Actually no… because the patty is cooked in porky goodness. Oh well. It’s sad stuff, but we headed over anyways to try some other menu items!
I just love the location in the Helms Bakery District!
Now, to the food!
I am a huge fan of goat cheese, so we had to start off with this. Also, I think I’m going to start grilling my bread from now on. Sorry Mr. Toaster!
This was a side dish that look intriguing, and since the only other non-salad large plate also had pork, I was scrounging around the menu for something meaty. Mushrooms to the rescue! Even my mushroom-hating dinner partner liked them. Score!
You know a dish is amazing when you are dreaming about it the next time you will taste it as you are walking out of the restaurant. The lamb was beautifully seasoned and cooked. The yogurt sauce was amazing, and I would have eaten a pound of the cucumbers if they had that on the menu. 🙂
The famous burger comes to the table not so spectacularly, but when you see it from the inside… you can tell what all the hubbub is about! I sampled the components of the dish, but I had to rely on what everyone else told me about the entire dish… that it was absolutely worth the wait.
So if you’re looking to experience one of the most talked about burger and the unsung heroes of the menu, check it out! Well do the burger, assuming that you can handle it without modifications…
