We had a quick dinner with my family and a friend who is practically part of the family! They picked a restaurant that I had not tried before, called Casa Inka. We do love our Peruvian food, remember our meals at Picca and Mo-chica? 🙂
The restaurant itself is huge, colorful, and there was some lovely live music! Now, to the food!
Traditional preparation of fresh cubed fish marinated in lime juice and spices. Served with sweet potatoes, red onions & Peruvian corn.
Is it possible to go to a Peruvian restaurant and not order a ceviche?
A classic South American meat pie. Your choice of Beef or Chicken.
I love empanadas! Always a family favorite. 🙂
Fried yucca served with our slightly spicy cheese sauce and hard boiled eggs
Also as a starter, we had some bread served with a couple of spicy chili pepper sauces, called Crema de Huacatay y Crema de Rocoto. Have the water handy!
Before we move on to the main dishes, I just wanted to share a bit of the restaurant with you. It looked like this inside the restaurant. Just like eating outside, but better!
A Charbroiled steak served with white rice, fried plantains, french fries, lettuce, tomato and a sunny side up egg
I’m pretty sure that this picture says it all!
Poached fish with fresh herbs, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers & white wine
I just loved this fish! It does not photograph nearly as delicious as it tasted. Being the veggie lover I am, I swapped out the rice for a side of mixed vegetables.
I am not exactly sure what my sister ordered, but it was a lot of veggies and almost a curry sauce. Maybe someone out there would know?
Tender chicken breast breaded with fresh herbs, served with steamed vegetables
Fun!
Fresh fish filet with wine lobster sauce
This is a pretty dish, isn’t it? Absolutely delicious too!
