After our mini meal at Forage, we were on our way to Guisado’s, but when I saw the Brite Spot sign, I insisted that we made an unplanned stop!
By the way, this is a seriously old school diner. Apparently it’s been there since 1949!
As soon as you walk into the diner, there are tons of awesome blinding lights! I’ll share a better picture later, but this one captures exactly what you feel like when you walk in.
As soon as your eyes focus, the very first thing you can’t help but notice is the bakery display. Yes!
You may remember our first time at Brite Spot, and I came here just so we could buy some more amazing brownies! Chewy and delicious!
However, the pies dragged us in, and we ordered a couple of slices to share. It was like a dessert break in between our two mini-meals. Weird, but I’m glad I have a friend who shares my love of food. 🙂
Now to the pie!
Normally, I think there is too much whipped cream as a pie topping, but this was perfect due to the rich, dense peanut butter. There was a perfect chocolate crust and it was topped with peanut butter shavings. I ordered a glass of almond milk just because I didn’t want to get caught in an Aaron Burr/Got Milk moment.
My friend picked this one out, and I loved it. I need to find a way to recreate this at home. Or maybe that would be too dangerous actually…
Here is a better shot of the diner, complete with glittery gold vinyl banquettes! 🙂
Goodbye until next time Brite pot… Oh wait Brite Spot! 😉 By the way, I love when signs have burned out letters or missing letters and spell out something silly.
Anyways, this might have to be a frequent stop for me, especially if I get to keep trying more and more delish desserts!
