On Mother’s day, we went to Bouchon, a family favorite restaurant! In the short time that I have been food blogging, I have blogged about it four times! Once in Las Vegas for dinner, last year for Mother’s Day, another dinner in Vegas, and the last time for brunch in Vegas!
As much as I love the Las Vegas location, there is something extra special about the Beverly Hills location with the courtyard between the Montage Hotel. So pretty!
For Mother’s Day, there were a few specials, but otherwise it was a regular brunch menu. Yum!
My mom started with champagne, since it was Mother’s Day after all, and my dad has this pretty Bloody Mary.
California Sterling white sturgeon caviar with toasted brioche & crème fraîche
This was a treat for my mom, who loves caviar. Is it odd that I actually like the accompanying caviar plate? The finely diced chives, egg whites, egg yolks, and red onions are so colorful and perfect. Add the crème fraîche and the capers, and it is a wonderful accompaniment to the caviar and brioche!
The signature epi bread was delicious, as always.
forest mushroom & gruyère cheese omelette served with mixed greens
two eggs any style, served with bacon, country sausage & toasted brioche, your choice of a breakfast pastry, freh juice & Bouchon blend coffee
My sister ordered this, but since she could not have the breakfast meats, she substituted spinach. For her pastry, she chose the Pain au Chocolat above.
hash of the day with fingerling potatoes, market vegetables & a hen egg, served sunny side up
Last year’s hash was short rib, which was amazing. I ordered this year’s, which was delicate and light! Ironically, the market vegetables were tomato and corn, both of which are not technically vegetables!*
*Tomatoes are fruits and corn is a grain
rolled in a raspberry sugar, served with raspberry preserves
We ordered these again, just like last year. It’s a tradition! A slight pink tint was the only clue to the raspberry flavor.
This dessert was very pretty and sweet. Our only problem is that it was difficult to share, but it would be a perfect dessert for one person.
rhubarb tart with brown butter-almond filling & strawberry ice cream
I chose this one to complete our trio of desserts. This was actually my favorite of the bunch because how could you go wrong with the slightly tart rhubarb paired with the buttery almond filling. Delicious! Also, I thought it was just gorgeous, and how funny is it that we ordered three desserts that were all pink!
And as a thank you to the mothers, they gave a couple of strawberry macarons. And because my mom knows that I love them, she regifted them to me. 🙂
Overall, another lovely Mother’s Day brunch!
