For our second dinner in Las Vegas, we decided to go to Zeffirino in the Venetian because one person in our dinner party had not eaten there before. Not only is it the longest running restaurant in the hotel, it is the second location of a restaurant that has been open in Genoa, Italy since 1939. Let’s see a little bit of Italy in the U.S.!
The exterior and interior design pays homage to the original restaurant’s Italian roots.
Normally, I skip pictures of the table…
…but it was so pretty!
Now, the food!
The shrimp were very fresh and enormous!
The minestrone was a heavier version of the vegetable soup with a cereal, similar to farro used to thicken it up.
Simple, fresh, and delicious!
After my amazing pasta at Bouchon the day before, I very nearly went for a seafood pasta, but decided to have this hot appetizer as an entree. It was glorious, hearty, and a bit spicy, served with perfectly crusty bread. Yum!
Luckily, I had my pasta fix with this delicious pasta topped mozzarella. Tomatoes and mozzarella are always a winning combination!
This huge plate of pasta was meant to be for one person, but we all tried a little after seeing how enormous it was! The perfect dish for hungry seafood-lovers!
I adore risotto, but I was burned one too may times by boring, under/overseasoned, or overly heavy dishes. This was just fantastic, and a reminder of how much I love risotto.
