Today’s post is a bit of a different one! I had the pleasure of attending a cooking demo by the Executive Chef and Bar Director of SOCIAL Costa Mesa at the fabulous and gorgeous PIRCH store in Costa Mesa.
We had the pleasure of learning how to mix one of SOCIAL’s signature cocktails and make a delicious seasonal dish. This was perfect timing because I was heading to the restaurant the following day for my first visit ever! Let’s check it out!
First up, Executive Chef Jeffrey Boullt introduced himself and his team. Then, we started mixing the cocktails with Bar Director Mike West!
I absolutely adored the Dementa #2, one of their signature cocktails, so make sure to check out the recipe below. 🙂
Dementa #2
Ingredients
- 1 oz. Shiso-infused Ford’s gin
- 1/2 oz. Fernet Menta
- 1/4 oz. Chareau
- 3/4 oz. lemon juice
- 3/8 oz. Gigner Cordial
- 1 1/2 oz. Cucumber Soda
- 2 drops saline solution
Directions
- Served on the rocks, in a tall glass.
- Cucumber ribbon garnish, cracked black pepper.
Watching Executive Chef Jeffrey Boullt prepare the market vegetable dish was like seeing a food show happen in real time! There were so many components to the dish, which really impressed upon me how much work goes into just one plate.
